Post FTP - How does BlueFTP work with Bluveoda website builder

The BlueVoda website builder will teach you how to create website in about an hour. Using the website builder, you will build each page of your website and publish them live to the Internet. If you plan on create website that includes multiple downloadable forms, media or documents, you will need to learn how to manage ftp transfers. FTP is the protocol that allows documents and other elements to be uploaded and stored on your server and downloaded for easy access to your visitors. You can manage these files using an ftp client. This is a management system that allows you to organize and upload your files to the server. The BlueVoda website builder makes it easy for you to access the ftp client and do just that.

This tutorial will show what you need to do. Begin by opening the Tools drop down menu from the top tool bar and select “ftp manager” from the list. Your website builder will open a two sided window on your web page. The left side of this window displays your “Local” files, meaning the files on your own pc. The right side of the window will display the files that you have uploaded to the server, or “Remote” files. Before you begin uploading new files, you need to connect to the server. Click on the Connect button on the top left side of the page. The website builder will ask you to select the appropriate server and enter your user name and password. Once you are connected, you can begin to upload.

When you first connect to the server, by default, you are located in the root directory titles public_html. You will see the pages you have already built to create website here already. To stay organized when you create website, you should now create a new folder on the server. Right click in the server window and name a new folder. Click on that folder to open it. Then select your files to upload one by one from your local files and drag each one over to the Remote window. You will see them immediately appear in the remote window n the website builder. You are finished!

Now, you can use the website builder to go back and link your text or images to these documents. Once you link the images, you will have create website with downloadable media and data. They will remain available on the server for download as many times as needed. When you want to update your files, just go back and follow the same process using the website builder.

It is important to note that when you create website with the BV website builder, that your main web pages must be published through the website builder. You do not need to publish the files you uploaded to the server that are not a part of your main website. To create website, however, your web pages must be uploaded to the server via the publishing options in the website builder. You cannot upload your main website pages to the server using the ftp client.

There are multiple ways to take advantage your ftp client when you create website. It is commonly used when you create website to keep the website’s space down while still providing all the information to your visitors via download. Knowing how much space you are allowed on your server when you create website will also help you determine the amount of information that can be stored.

Use the BV website builder to create website that can handle all of your information. Create website that is well organized and rich in content. Your tools are easy to use with the website builder. Think of all the things you can do when you create website now.
